Imagine this in golf... They're more interested in keeping yellow lines on the course than new golfers

The industry is missing the boat on the important factor of introduction. Look at the number of school golf teams in middle and high school. Look at the number of junior fun tournaments they are. Then look at how we are introducing the game to millennials.
Back then there were no programs for introduction. It always fell on the older generation to teach the younger. There were more ranges back then and more small courses to learn on. For $1 a kid under 18 could play 18 in NYC.  The USGA and the R&A have dropped the ball on these programs. They're more interested in keeping yellow lines on the course than new golfers. They might want to take a page out of the new indoor courses that create golf for fun like TopGolf, Drive Shack, and Nextlinks. These places are introducing imagination to the game of new potential players and directing them to the grass courses. Now the game has to do its part to introduce them to loving the game.

Believe it or not, loving the game of golf, like any other game is easy. It's about accomplishment. Why are video games so addicting? That's easy-the sense of accomplishment. They build levels from easy to hard that require you to imagine a winning outcome. Wow-what a concept. Teach people to imagine a winning concept. That's why I love listening to successful people. They talk about the outcome and not the process.  If I give you a pen and teach you how to correctly write, you would be bored. If I gave you a pen and told you to scribble and draw your favorite tree, you'd spend how much time doing it toward your outcome? This is simple stuff folks.

Why aren't more golfers having fun at the range playing games like, HORSE, straightest shot wins, land closest to the pin and everyone's favorite- hit the cart picking up the balls? How many people love this game of "skill"?  Give golfers the tools to implement their imaginations to lower their scores. But don't make it about lowering the scores-that is just the result of the hard work being done.

Make it so they use their imaginations toward the goal. Make it fun.

After all GOLF is a "Game Of Learning Fun"

After all, that's what being a kid is all about isn't it?
